The PCI Monitoring Committee was formed in early 2017 with the aim of assessing progress towards these goals, as well as providing input for the refinement and improvement of actions and ensuring The Working Group decided that annually PCI will assess the progress of its goals, and the results will be published and made available through a report.<\/p><\/div>\n\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<div class=\"elementor-tab-title elementor-tab-mobile-title\" aria-selected=\"false\" data-tab=\"2\" role=\"tab\" tabindex=\"-1\" aria-controls=\"elementor-tab-content-2322\" aria-expanded=\"false\">Indicators<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t\t<div id=\"elementor-tab-content-2322\" class=\"elementor-tab-content elementor-clearfix\" data-tab=\"2\" role=\"tabpanel\" aria-labelledby=\"elementor-tab-title-2322\" tabindex=\"0\" hidden=\"hidden\"><p><strong>Development of Indicators<\/strong><\/p><p>To achieve PCI's objectives, the PCI Monitoring Committee worked in 2017 on defining indicators, baseline data, and sources for each of the 21 goals distributed across its three axes. These indicators are being monitored and updated annually, enabling the identification of progress towards each established goal and guiding efforts from the government, private sector, and civil society.<br \/>The selection of indicators was carried out considering availability, update frequency, scale, and data format. Therefore, information produced by reliable sources that are easily accessible, with annual or biannual updates, was chosen. Preference was given to indicators at the municipal scale and those that can be spatially located within the territory.<br \/>For some goals, there is currently no available information that meets these criteria, which limits the definition of a robust indicator. In some cases, it was necessary to combine more than one indicator, while in others, a composite indicator combining two pieces of information was used. The platform also offers a detailed view of the state's performance over time and provides a spatial view to better understand how objectives can be achieved and shared in each of its 141 municipalities. Organizations that participated in the conception of the PCI or its Committee, including production representative entities, companies, civil society organizations, and state government agencies, were invited to participate in a participatory evaluation process carried out during the second semester of 2020. This process was conducted through webinars, questionnaires, and virtual workshops. The process was supported by ICV, a board member of the PCI Institute, and executed by Ess\u00eancia Processos Participativos.<br \/>Collaboratively, participating entities and partners of the PCI engaged in dialogue about the progress, challenges, lessons learned, results, and impacts of the goals in each of the three strategy axes \u2013 Produce, Conserve, and Include \u2013 and its management, with the aim of conducting an overall assessment of the PCI Strategy from 2015 to the present.<br \/>Guided by a reflective and participatory approach through dialogues in a remote environment, the participatory evaluation was structured in three stages:<\/p><ul><li>Introduction webinar of activities, held on 27\/8\/2020, on the Zoom platform.<\/li><li>Online perception survey forms, available at the link https:\/\/sites.google.com\/view\/avaliapci\/ from 31\/8 to 8\/10 of 2020, regarding: an overview of the PCI Strategy; each axis of the Strategy and its respective thematic agendas; and management.<\/li><li>Remote workshops for each axis of the strategy and a general one, between October and November 2020.<\/li><\/ul><p>When analyzing the set of goals for the Produce, Conserve, and Include axes, most entities, with the intention of improving the PCI Strategy, suggested the following proposals:<\/p><ul><li>Adjustments to 17 goals and 12 indicators;<\/li><li>15 new goals and 6 new indicators;<\/li><li>89 priority actions for implementing the goals in the three axes \u2013 Produce, Conserve, Include, and<\/li><li>38 priority actions for managing the Strategy in the monitoring agendas, investment capture, communication (internal and external), regionalization\/connection with territory, and public-private governance and articulation.<\/li><\/ul><p>With the proposals for improvements in goals and indicators received, the PCI Institute expects to launch a renegotiated vision of the Strategy for the period from 2020 to 2030 in 2021. The work was carried out by the Laboratory of Image Processing and Geoprocessing (Lapig\/UFG) and involved more than 72,000 samples via Landsat satellite (30m resolution) to develop the pasture map, as well as several field visits for validation. The results of the work indicated that the state has a smaller area of pastures than previously identified (17.7 million hectares compared to 21.1 million hectares) and that pasture degradation has been occurring at a faster rate than the area of recovery in the state as a whole. The work was carried out by the Mato Grosso Institute of Agricultural Economics (IMEA) and involved analysis of Landsat 8 satellite images as well as data obtained from on-site mapping conducted in 2019 by the IMEA team.
